When I'm not creating art, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and spending time with my family and 3 cats. Many of my pieces are influenced by my fascination with nature. I love creating a certain mood by the use of color and texture in my work.
I have been exploring fiber arts since May of 2019, and teaching the art of wool felting since early 2020. I create beautifully textured paintings and sculptures using both wet and dry felting techniques.
My felted wool landscapes, birds, and wool sculptures have been featured at HeARTspot Art Center and Gallery in my home town of East Providence, RI.
I won the People’s Choice Award at the Bristol Art Museum’s “Cold Snap” gallery show in November 2019. I received second place in the Portsmouth Arts Guild’s “Imagine Fabric” show in August 2020 for my art piece, “Pink Sky”. I was awarded Works of Distinction in 2023 for my art piece “First Frost” at the Rogers Free Library in Bristol, RI. My art has also been juried and displayed at the Wickford Art Association Gallery.
I use a variety of wools and other fibers - Merino, Corriedale, Romney, Angelina, Tussah silk - to create original works of art. I incorporate fabrics into my felt as well, called Nuno Felting. I also have embellished my wool paintings and sculptures with embroidery and beads.
